Across Maasai Land Initiative

The great explorer Joseph Thomson walked through MaasaiLand in the 19th Century, making him the first white man to enter this land. He started out by traversing through 6 Maasai clusters, from Kisosnko Maasai cluster in Loitokitok into Matapato, Dalalekutuk, Ildamat, Iloodokilani and Keekonyokie. These journeys are captured in his seminal book Through Masai Land (1885).
Part of this exploration was through the present-day Kajiado, and the Across Maasai Land Initiative (AMLI) group seeks to retrace the journey of Joseph Thomson in their land.
You can join Thomson's footsteps on a 5-day walking safari adventure:
The walk will take you through the Maasai clusters that he traversed and you will get to see some of the landscape and geographical features such as the Suree Gorge and Waterfall as described in Through Masai Land and enjoy a wide variety of plants, animals and bird species. The treks will include lunch breaks and overnight camping in designated points with some cultural entertainment.
