The Lodge lies to the left of the road toward Mchinji and the Zambian border along the M12. It is a well sign posted and easily located just 1.8km from the main road. The location is perfect as a starting or ending point for a safari within Malawi or Zambia, with the town and all its facilities close enough and yet providing peace and safety during the evenings and at night. It is ideally situated for transfers to and from the Lilongwe International Airport and to Zambia's South Luangwa National Park.
The lodge, one of the best places to stay in Lilongwe, is set in sixteen acres of lush landscaped gardens and boasts five 2/3 person chalets, one family chalet and five walk-in tents along with plenty of space for guests to pitch their own tents. The fixed tents are shaded by thatched shelters; three with double beds and two with a single bed each. The Chalets, tastefully furnished in African décor, with tea and coffee making facilities, their own private patio and parking area, are set away from the tents for privacy.
Fresh clean linen and other necessities are provided. The ablutions have hot and cold water as well as electricity and the site can also accommodate overland safari vehicles.
The 'Night Jar' is a fully equipped dining area and bar and offers home cooking, cold beer and soft drinks and is the perfect place to unwind after a strenuous day.
Guests arriving in their own vehicles have the service of a workshop and a mechanic and with our 24-hour security guarding there is no need to worry about your vehicles and equipment over night.
With the Barefoot Safaris office, situated within the grounds of the Lodge and camping area we are able to discuss and take bookings for a Barefoot tour in Malawi, Zambia or beyond.
