Batanai seeks to promote the human rights of people living with HIV. It hopes for an end to prejudice and discrimination against people with HIV/Aids. Batanai Support Group is an NGO supporting youths and women in income generating projects, sustainable agriculture, youth and leadership skills in the districts of Masvingo, Gutu and Chivi. Members meet regularly to offer each other much needed practical and social support. We provide home based care for local people with Aids who need some home support and nursing, Do pre- and post- HIV test counselling at the local hospital, and help set up and support other self help groups throughout the province. Batanai has helped many other groups to form and is now the centre of a network of over 40 groups throughout Masvingo province. They have inspired the formation of more than 100 similar groups throughout Zimbabwe.
