In addition, Hivos wishes to increase public awareness of justice and sustainable development, as well as to encourage critical reflection on and debates about these topics and the options available. In terms of content, the educational activities of Hivos are linked to its advocacy activities, such as in the case of the abovementioned campaigns. Knowledge Programme In 2007 Hivos set up a multidisciplinary knowledge programme, integrating knowledge development, knowledge transformation and knowledge application on specific topics with academic institutes, think tanks and a wide array of civil society practitioners. In order to share its own expertise more systematically with interested parties, Hivos has created a platform where they can add and exchange information and knowledge themselves.
